Meet the Project Team Working at Greenhill School

August 14, 2025

Two teams, one mission: supporting the growth of Greenhill School!

We’ve got THREE concurrent projects underway, each designed to expand athletic, academic, and student life spaces—right in the heart of an active K–12 campus. Let’s take a closer look at what’s been going on (and don’t worry, there won’t be a quiz)…

Project 1: The 22,000-SF Athletic Performance Center is a major investment in Greenhill’s athletics program. The two-story facility includes locker rooms, coaches’ offices, a weight room, and meeting spaces, with major site improvements like 10 new tennis courts, a field hockey field, and an upcoming multi-sport practice field just north of the building. Here’s why our team isn’t skipping leg day:
▪️ A dramatic 30-foot cantilevered roof, giving the building its signature look.
▪️ A cross-laminated timber roof deck, requiring careful coordination for every roof penetration.
▪️ All HVAC ductwork routed through the first floor ceiling, which also houses most utilities—resulting in extremely tight space.
▪️ A phased construction approach, planned around a busy summer camp schedule.
▪️ Portions of the design—including finishes and branding—still being finalized as the work progresses.

Project 2: The Dining Hall Renovation is happening just across the quad, where another team is fast-tracking a kitchen and servery modernization to get the school’s dining hall ready for students by the first day of classes this month. Here’s what’s on their plate:
▪️ New foodservice equipment and refreshed finishes throughout the food prep and dining areas.
▪️ A compressed construction schedule, with no wiggle room.
▪️ Coordination of long-lead kitchen equipment and deliveries, timed in real time.
▪️ Permitting and jurisdictional coordination with the Town of Addison, adding complexity behind the scenes.

Project 3: The same team is also updating Greenhill’s Upper School facility, with interior renovations designed to create flexible, modern teaching spaces. Here’s how they’re making the grade:
▪️ Transformation of traditional classrooms into flexible learning environments, supporting a range of teaching styles.
▪️ A fast-paced construction schedule, targeting completion by the first day of school.
▪️ Unforeseen conditions uncovered during demolition, requiring quick thinking and creative field solutions.
▪️ Real-time collaboration with the design team, to resolve evolving design questions and on-site adjustments.

And all of this is happening on a fully active campus that stays busy year-round (even in the summer).

Whether it’s structural gymnastics or schedule-driven execution, our people are bringing energy, collaboration, and precision to Greenhill’s evolving campus—and Michael Piscopo, Ross Brindle, Ryan Pence, Trace Houston, David Veliz, Russell Jones, and Jordan Rodriguez are making it all happen, alongside all of the trade partners listed in the comments.
