Summary

Four phases + two years = one big win for the Lufkin community!

Woodland Heights Medical Center has completed a major, multi-phase renovation and expansion project designed to enhance care for both emergency patients and growing families.

▪️ The Labor & Delivery suite on the 2nd floor was expanded with two new rooms, a refreshed entry, and updated finishes throughout—creating a more welcoming and functional space for childbirth.
▪️ The 1st floor lobby, waiting area, and gift shop were reimagined with all-new finishes and systems to improve flow and comfort for patients and visitors alike.
▪️ The main Emergency Department entrance now features a larger waiting area, added triage rooms, new restrooms, and a new canopy and drive—streamlining patient intake and improving emergency access.
▪️ Inside the ER, nine rooms became sixteen, with new millwork, finishes, and MEP upgrades—significantly increasing the hospital’s capacity to serve the Lufkin community.

Keeping the hospital fully operational through every phase was no small feat. Our team worked with hospital leadership to phase work carefully and maintain patient safety and comfort at every step.

More capacity. Better flow. And an even stronger foundation for healthcare in East Texas.
