Why Skiles Group?

We’ve been doing this for over 50 years, but we maintain a company size that allows us to know each other. Each year, we create numerous big and small opportunities to come together or show appreciation and strive to build an employee community that our people love.

In 2021, we committed to NAMI’s (National Alliance on Mental Health) pledge to become a StigmaFree Company. We aim to create an accepting and healthy culture within our corporate environment. Our commitment to mental health includes a benefit for employees and their families that offers unlimited behavioral health therapy sessions, monthly mental health content sent directly to employees, and an emphasis on Mental Health Month, among other related initiatives.

We are a privately owned company founded by our namesake, Ray F. Skiles, and two others in 1972. We are now in our third generation of leadership, guided by people who continue to build on that legacy and have positioned us for long-term stability and steady, responsible growth.​ Our leaders are accessible, generous, and truly care about their relationships with our people.

We believe in transparency with our clients and our employees. We operate on a system called the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). One of the ways we use it is to share our company’s strategic vision and objectives with every person who works here. We create company goals annually and quarterly “rocks” that improve our work and move us closer to those larger goals. We collectively work on the business together, and there are regular opportunities to be part of these initiatives. Our employees have quarterly 1:1 meetings with their managers to check in and share feedback, creating transparency in both directions. Once a year, we gather for an annual meeting followed by socializing and something fun.

We are continuously looking for new and better ways to do things, so we’re all ears when employees bring ideas to the table. We encourage our folks to poke, question, and innovate. We don’t shy away from change—if anything, we run towards it.

Progress in the company only happens with the progress of our people. We support continuing education, training, membership in professional organizations, professional certifications, and more.

If there’s anything we spend too much money on, it’s technology. We love to get our hands on the latest and greatest and allow interested individuals to test new methods before making technology available to the company. We’re not about technology just for the sake of it. Does it add value, reduce waste, or simplify our workflow? If so, we’re interested!
