ENR Texas & Louisiana recently featured our vertical expansion project with Methodist Richardson Medical Center on their website. The feature includes a direct overhead view of the construction progress shot by Jeff Carrillo. You can view the full feature below, or by visiting their website.
Methodist Richardson Medical Center is in the midst of a $55-million, 103,000-sq-ft vertical expansion that will build a fifth and sixth floor onto the facility, adding 150 beds to the hospital’s current 219 beds. Construction will also include a seven-story precast parking garage with 665 parking spaces. Skiles Group, Richardson, Texas, is general contractor.
“I have been working with Skiles Group on a monthly basis to capture unique aerial photos and video of the jobsite as the completion progresses,” says photographer Carrillo. “I think the S-shape design of this building was pretty cool, but more specifically, this direct overhead shot really captured the transformation as the steel framing and decking go up [by comparing] the right, which still shows a bare roof, to the left, where framing is already installed and decking is being added.”
The direct overhead view of the crane added to the feel of the shot as well, Carrillo says.
“Our goal on this project was to capture unique images of the site that are eye-catching while documenting [construction] progress all in one shot,” he says.
Carrillo used a DJI Matrice 210 drone with a Zenmuse X4S camera to capture the image.
Project completion is targeted for early 2020.
